What’s New In The August 2024 Payara Platform Release

We’re pleased to announce the latest releases of Payara Platform, addressing key bug fixes and delivering component upgrades for improved performance and security. Thanks to these updates, users of Payara Platform Enterprise and/or Payara Platform Community, can benefit from a more reliable and optimized runtime environment.

Payara Platform Enterprise 6.17.0 & 5.66.0

The Payara Platform Enterprise 6.17.0 & 5.66.0 releases focus on resolving issues related to REST endpoints and domain restarts. A typo in the clear-cache endpoint has been corrected, along with method type and parameter fixes. Additionally, a bug causing applications to deploy to unintended instances during domain restarts has been fixed.

Component upgrades are a significant highlight of these releases:

  • JLine: Upgraded to version 3.26.3 for enhanced console input handling.
  • Nimbus Jose JWT: Upgraded to version 9.40 for improved security and JSON Web Token (JWT) handling.
  • Jersey: Upgraded to the latest versions for better RESTful web services support.
  • Jackson: Upgraded to version 2.17.2 for optimized JSON processing.
  • Jakarta Concurrency API: Upgraded to version 3.0.4 for enhanced concurrency capabilities.
  • Reactor Core: Upgraded to version 3.6.8 for improved reactive programming support.

Payara Platform Community 6.2024.8

The Payara Platform Community 6.2024.8 release mirrors the bug fixes found in the Enterprise editions, ensuring a consistent experience across the Payara Platform. The same upgrades to JLine, Nimbus Jose JWT, Jersey, Jackson, Jakarta Concurrency API and Reactor Core discussed above are included.
