Earlier today, the Eclipse Foundation together with its vendor members, partners and community has announced the release of Jakarta EE 11, the latest version of its enterprise Java platform. Building on the Core Profile (Dec 2024) and Web Profile (Mar 2025), this release brings powerful new features aimed at boosting developer productivity and simplifying cloud-native development.

Jakarta EE 11 is a major leap forward for enterprise Java. With new features like Jakarta Data, developers can build modern, cloud-native applications while still supporting existing Java EE systems. Our early adoption through the Payara Platform Community 7 Alpha (DOWNLOAD HERE) – already certified for the Core Profile – shows our strong commitment to the Jakarta EE ecosystem.

Work on Jakarta EE 12 is already in motion, with a release planned for 2026. The next version will fully embrace Java SE 21 and bring even more updates, including possible new specs like Jakarta Query and Jakarta MVC.
