In this talk, we’ll look at what Java User Groups (JUGs) have taught us about the real challenges of building and sustaining a technical community: from geographical and cultural differences to collaboration gaps, and keeping momentum over time. Using lessons from experienced JUG organizers, we’ll highlight how strong local leadership, regular engagement, and a focus on people – not just code – can drive long-term growth in any open source community.
