Payara Server on Microsoft Azure (Video Series)

Payara

In this video series created by Rudy De Busscher you’ll learn how to run an application which connects to a PostgreSQl database with Payara Server on the Microsoft Azure Platform in five short videos.

Watch how to access the Microsoft Azure Portal, install Azure CLI, create and set up a resource group and install it on Ubuntu Server. After you’ve completed these initial steps, you can then install Payara Server on Microsoft Azure, set up Payara Server’s Admin Console for remote access, connect to a PostgreSQL database and create a table, and finally, configure and deploy your application with Payara Server on the Microsoft Azure Platform!

This video series features five videos, each eight minutes or less in length:

In Part 5, we’ll configure and deploy your application to test that everything is working properly with your set up. If you’ve followed all of the steps presented in this 5-video series, you’ll have an application running on Payara Server in Microsoft Azure that connects to a PostgreSQL database.

Visit our Cloud Solutions page for more resources on using Payara Server with Microsoft Azure.

Is the application configured for high availability with session fail-over?

  2. Rudy De Busscher

    Hi David,

Not in this example as there is only one instance of Payara configured. If needed, you need to set up a Deployment Group and running multiple instances on several servers within the Azure resource group. More information around this can be found in this blog https://www.payara.fish/blog/session-replication-in-payara-server-with-hazelcast.

    Best Regards
    Rudy

All the videos shared very helpful. One of my client looking for option that we can spin up new server with all configuration. Bringing up new server with all configuration (Payara, Java, Postgres) installed on new server. Let me know if there is pipeline we can use to spin up new server.
