Devnexus 2025 has wrapped up, and what an incredible event it was! This year’s conference was particularly special as we celebrated Java’s 30th anniversary. Developers, architects, and technology enthusiasts from around the world gathered in Atlanta from March 4-6, sharing knowledge, networking, and exploring the latest advancements in the Java ecosystem. Payara Services contributed to key discussions on Jakarta EE, security, AI-powered development, and more. Our experts delivered insightful sessions that were met with high enthusiasm and participation.

Jakarta EE: Connected Industries with an Edge

Petr Aubrecht’s session on edge computing and Jakarta EE drew attention to developers eager to learn how Jakarta EE is shaping the future of industrial automation. Attendees engaged in discussions on integrating cloud-based Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) frameworks with enterprise Java applications, making it one of the most interactive sessions of the event.

Gaurav Gupta’s session explored the transformative role of AI in Jakarta EE development. With live demos showcasing AI-powered project scaffolding and intelligent code suggestions in NetBeans IDE, developers left inspired to integrate AI-driven automation into their workflows. The session sparked engaging Q&A discussions, proving AI’s growing role in Java development

Security was a major theme at Devnexus, and Fabio Turizo’s session on OpenID Connect for Jakarta EE applications was a standout. Developers learned best practices for implementing robust authentication in modern cloud-native applications, with live demos showcasing seamless integration techniques. Attendees praised the session for its practical takeaways and real-world use cases.

Beyond the Sessions: Networking, Community, and the Jakarta EE Stand

The Java community is what makes Devnexus so special, and this year was no exception. We were delighted to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new ones across the halls, at the Jakarta EE booth, and during social events. We also had the pleasure of catching up with Ivar GrimstadMichael Redlich (who gave a standout talk on Jakarta EE 11), and many other long-standing community members who continue to push the Java ecosystem forward. The conference also provided an opportunity to celebrate Java’s 30th anniversary, reflecting on its evolution and the vibrant community that continues to drive innovation.

From deep-dive sessions to casual networking chats, Devnexus 2025 reinforced the strength of the Java ecosystem and its bright future. With Devnexus 2025 behind us, the energy and insights gained from this conference will continue to shape the future of Jakarta EE and enterprise Java. We extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended our sessions, visited our booth, and engaged with our experts. Your enthusiasm fuels our passion for advancing Java technologies!
